Take Me to the Ocean

It was a weird feeling when I opened my eyes this morning and I thought how this would be my last day in my bed for 3 months.

Before packing up and heading to the beach I shaved my head. I figure it will be a lot easier to maintain with less hair. Hopefully, it all comes back.

Before leaving we blessed my bicycle with sage and Palo Santo wood for good vibes. I'm all for anything I can do to make sure I don't have any catastrophic events on this trip.

We made the two-hour drive from Raleigh to Wilmington and set up on the beach in Wrightsville. We were immediately greeted by a pod of dolphins. It felt like a good sign.

It was a great day at the beach. I love the feeling of the sand between my tires and the sound of the ocean. I'm a beach bum at heart. Always have been. 

Spending the day in the sun, and listening to the waves made me feel relaxed. Plus I got to spend time on the beach with my girl. Couldn't have asked for a better send-off.
